Mountain Home Music presents Beer & Banjos Boone hosted by The Swingbillies of Boonetown
BEER & BANJOS is a free music series presented at South End Brewing on the second Thursday of each month. The house band of all house bands, the Dawgful Dead hosts each month, followed by a local or regional act.
THE DAWGFUL DEAD is a talented band that combines the improvisational spirit of the Grateful Dead with the virtuoso playing of the David Grisman Quintet to create a unique, high-energy sound that’s sure to get you dancing. Featuring jaw-dropping solos, intricate harmonies, and an infectious love of music, The Dawgful Dead is a band that’s not to be missed. Whether you’re a die-hard Deadhead or simply a lover of great music, you’re sure to be swept away by their powerful performances. Band Members include Adam Williams, Patrick Holmes, Chuck Mantooth, Craig Barnette, Ben Parker, Mike Mckee and Owen Parker.
Destined to become an inseparable duo, Meade Richter and Savas Altuntas met at under a gazebo while jamming on Old Time music of Appalachia, soon forming The Swingbillies of Boonetown, music from around the world, based in Boone, NC.
